How Is the PVC Pipe Manufacturing Process?

Manufacturing process

The extrusion of the pipe

The pipes that are made from the PVC are manufactured when they are passed by the PVC pipe extrusion process. This process includes:

Ø  The feeding of the plastic material

Ø  Melting of the material by using the mechanical energy

Ø  Cooling is done to give it the shape of the pipe

Joint the pipes in different forms

These pipes are then joined to make different shapes. The pipes are made in the most flexible form. Then there are different methods that are used to joint them. Like:

Ø  Using cement

Injection moulding

Injection modeling mostly includes the joining of the joints. In the injection modeling process, the plastic is then transferred to the melting section. After the melting, the product is then transformed to the shape that is desired. In the cooling process, the plastic may harden. To prevent this, the mould is opened to eject the product.

There are two methods of the injection moulding. These are:

Blow moulding

In the blow moulding process of the inject moulding, plastic is melted. It is then exhausted. It is then closed to a metal mould that will be cooled. Air is blown in the tube to cool the plastic. Then the mould is opened to eject the part.

Rotational moulding

The rotational moulding is the process in which the plastic is made at a high temperature and a low pressure. This method is used to make large inspection chambers in the plastic pipe industry.
